Although botanically classified as a fruit, golden zucchini is also treated like a vegetable and is best harvested before it matures, at 6-8 inches (15-20cm). Avoid large overgrown golden zucchinis.
When shopping look for firm ones with smooth shiny skin and without any blemishes.
Availability
Golden zucchini is most plentiful from May to October like all summer squashes.
