Sausage and Artichoke Pizza

Sausage and Artichoke Pizza

Preparation time: 15 minutes; Baking time: 8-15 minutes; Makes: 12-16 inch pizza

Ingredients

  • 450g (1 pound) ball pizza dough or store-bought pizza dough
  • ½ cup pizza sauce 
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 225g (8oz) about 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese 
  • 2 large sausages (225g, 8oz) removed from casing and cooked 
  • 1 x 400ml (13.5fl oz) jar marinated artichoke  

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475ºF (245ºC) if using a pizza pan or 550ºF (290ºC) if using a pizza stone or as per instruction on you pizza dough packet. If using a stone, preheat the oven with the stone inside, on the bottom rack; if using a pan use the middle rack. The pizza will bake in 8-15 minutes depending on your oven.
  2. Roll or stretch the pizza dough and place on a lightly greased pizza pan or a pizza peel sprinkled with corn meal or semolina, if using a pizza stone.
  3. Spread the pizza sauce over the pizza crust. Sprinkle oregano over the sauce then top with the grated mozzarella cheese. Arrange the artichoke and sausage.
  4. Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake until the crust is golden brown, 8-15 minutes depending on your oven.

Step By Step Photos

Roll or stretch the pizza dough and place on a lightly greased pizza pan or a pizza peel sprinkled with corn meal or semolina, if using a pizza stone.

Spread the pizza sauce over the pizza crust and sprinkle oregano over the sauce.

Top with the grated mozzarella cheese

 Arrange the artichoke and sausage.
