I love simple recipes. Sometimes you are so tired at the end of the day, you don’t want to eat out of a can but still want something fresh, alongside your meal. I usually boil navy beans in bulk and store them in the fridge or freezer. Have a pleasant weekend.
Heat the butter over medium low heat until foamy. Add the onion and garlic and sauté without browning for 5 minutes. Add paprika and cook for another minute. Add the navy beans, salt and pepper to taste, water or stock and cook 5 minutes or until piping hot. Serve as a side.
Butter and Garlic Sautéed Navy Bean
Preparation time: 5 minutes; Cooking time: 15 minutes; Serves: 2-4
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 large cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 ½ cups cooked navy beans
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2-4 tablespoons water or stock
Instructions

- Suggestions for serving. I usually eat mine for breakfast alongside eggs and a nice cup of Masala tea or at dinner time, so this forces me to eat less carbs.
