My Favourite Pork Recipes
Pork is always such a pleasure to eat. On this day I wanted a really simple recipe for some left over pork that I wanted to give a different taste. I basically tried to use all the ingredients I had at hand, marinated them and threw them in the fridge for some two days or so. You can always marinate meat for a shorter time but the longer you marinate it the better the flavour and the softer the meat.
Marinating also cuts down the cooking time. I am not sure what I served with the ribs, probably some broiled veggies and roast potatoes. It tasted really good and I certainly plan to do it again.Ingredients
- White Wine and Honey Marinade
- ½ cup white wine
- ½ cup ketchup
- ⅓ cup light soy sauce
- 6 tablespoons honey
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon herbs de Provenance
- Other ingredients
- 2 whole pork spareribs cut into several pieces
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Please assemble all ingredients before you start. Please note that I reduced the recipe by half
Previous day: In a shallow dish, stir together the white wine, ketchup, soy sauce, honey, garlic and herbs de Provenance.
Add the spareribs and marinate for 12 hours in the fridge.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Remove the spareribs from the marinade and place them in a large baking dish. Brush well with marinade and bake for 45 minutes, checking often, to ensure the marinade doesn’t burn. At the end the meat should be moist with a nice caramelized crust.
I baked for 45 then basted and turned in the last 14 minutes. Took about 1 hour 10 minutes
We enjoyed eating the ribs, tremendously.
