Buffalo wing sauce is an orange coloured sauce made from cayenne pepper, white vinegar and butter or vegetable oil (with added butter flavour).
You can buy commercially produced Buffalo wing sauce from your local supermarket or make it on your own.
To make it on your own you need a hot sauce (made from cayenne pepper), butter, white vinegar and salt to taste. You may also add spices like garlic powder, cayenne pepper, paprika or Worcestershire Sauce.
The ratio of ingredients will vary depending on your palate but it’s usually 1 part hot sauce to about 1/2 to 3/4 part butter. The vinegar and salt are added to taste.
My Store-Bought Buffalo wing sauce has the following ingredients:
cayenne pepper (aged), white vinegar, soybean oil (with butter flavour), salt, dehydrated garlic, citric acid, xanthum gum and spice extract.
